Endoscopic Nasal Surgery

Endoscopic nasal surgery, also known as endoscopic sinus surgery or functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that is used to treat conditions affecting the nasal passages and sinuses. It involves the use of an endoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a camera and light) to visualize and operate on the nasal passages and sinuses.

Uses

Endoscopic nasal surgery can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Chronic sinusitis: Inflammation of the sinuses that does not improve with medication and persists for an extended period.
  • Nasal polyps: Benign growths in the nasal passages or sinuses that can cause obstruction and breathing difficulties.
  • Deviated septum: Correction of a deviated septum (septoplasty) can be performed using endoscopic techniques.
  • Tumors or cysts: IRemoval of benign or malignant growths in the nasal passages or sinuses.
  • Sinus obstructions: Treating obstructions in the sinuses to improve drainage and airflow.
  • Other structural abnormalities: Correction of other anatomical issues that may be causing symptoms such as difficulty breathing.
